In a cross-country alliance, Orange’s Tangoe, Inc. is teaming up with Californian network/IT advisory/cost-out provider Telwares, Inc. through the acquisition of the latter’s telecom expense management unit. Tangoe will become the new owner of Telware’s invoice management, call accounting and mobile device management operations including the related customers, support services, and staff located in Pueblo and Greenwood Village, CO and Parsippany, NJ.

Stamford-based Pitney Bowes launched its first mailing/shipping service employing cloud technology, pbSmartPostage. With the new service, businesses will be able to apply postage to letters and shipping labels and packages directly from any Internet-connected computer.

Norwalk’s Questionmark and Massachusetts’ Software Secure inked a technology agreement to enhance security of the Questionmark Perception assessment management system’s authoring, delivery and reporting capabilities. The addition of Software Secure’s Securexam Remote Proctor will enable remote monitoring and identity verification tools to be utilized for certification exams and other higher-stakes tests administered online.

Hadapt, a company born out of Yale ingenuity, raised initial financing to commercialize its analytical database research-based inventions in virtualized environments. Founded by Justin Borgman, Daniel Abadi PhD and Kamil Bajda-Pawlikowski, this funding will enable the company to continue its software development for general release later in 2011.
