A Special late afternoon Edition XcellR8 meeting will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011, from 3-4 pm at Nerac. There will be NO meeting on the morning of the 14th.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the discussion and dialog with Jody Ferrer, President and CEO of The Perfect Promotion, a West Hartford based specialty advertising firm. Jody came to the group looking for input on developing a sales team to cover CT, plus possibly NY, MA and RI. The conversation was a lively mix of questions and responses ranging from the characteristics of the market and target audience to the attributes that are most desired in a salesperson. Jody left with several strong ideas regarding talent acquisition and next steps.
During this Special Edition of XcellR8, we’ll meet Ms. Mallory Kievman. Mallory is a 13 year old from Manchester, CT, and will be an 8th grader at Talcott Mountain Academy in Avon. Mallory is the creator of Hiccupops– lollipops that stop hiccups in seconds by combining a proprietary blend of all-natural ingredients into a specific lollipop form.
Mallory developed the idea for her product last summer while researching ways to cure her own hiccups. Hiccupops are patent pending and recently won 3 awards at the 2011 CT Invention Convention. Mallory and her lollipops have been showcased at the State Capitol, and also on NBC News. Mallory is now looking to commercialize her invention, and is excited for the group’s input on go-to-market strategies and thoughts on start up funding/ sources.
Following the XcellR8 session, Nerac will be hosting an Innovation Connection event beginning at 4:00pm.
