The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) developed the first-ever Comprehensive Energy Strategy for the State of Connecticut
– an assessment and Strategy for all residential, commercial, and industrial energy issues, including energy efficiency, industry, electricity, natural gas, and transportation.

At the heart of the Strategy are a series of policy proposals aimed at expanding energy choices, lowering utility bills for Connecticut residents and businesses, improving environmental conditions, creating clean energy jobs, and enhancing the quality of life in the state. The Strategy offers recommendations in five major priority areas:
· Energy efficiency
· Industrial energy needs
· Electricity supply including renewable power
· Natural gas
· Transportation
