February 2012 – Demand for IT specialists picked up in January. This is not surprising as employers increase their job postings during the first quarter. More important will be the growth during the first three to four months as it will indicate what to expect for the year. Looking back demand has not reached 1,000 IT job openings since 2008. An important part of the problem seems to be that IT intensive industries like Financial Services, Banking and Insurance are still negatively impacted from the recession. In addition a number of IT jobs in this field have moved overseas.
