As the former Executive Director of Hardware Engineering for Gerber Technology, Bruce Plumley managed all new product development and R&D activities with global engineering teams in Tolland, Connecticut and Shanghai, China. With a presence in over 130 countries, Gerber Technology is a leading provider of hardware and software solutions that automate design and production processes for the apparel, aerospace, composites, furniture, technical textiles and transportation interiors industries.
Bruce earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Hartford, where he also attended the Barney School of Business. He holds multiple design and method patents and, as the NPD leader, he received the highest level award for product innovation from the Connecticut Quality Improvement Award (CQIA) Partnership, Inc., an affiliate of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, for Gerber’s Infinity plotter.
Bruce is a long-serving member on the Industrial Advisory Board at Central Connecticut State University, and since 2009, has been an adjunct professor of Engineering in CCSU’s Computer Electronics & Graphics Technology department.
