FASTEST-GROWING TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES IN CONNECTICUT
Technology Fast 50 Winners Experience Average Revenue Growth of 861 Percent
IntelliClaim
Inc., a Norwalk-based provider of claim performance enhancement
solutions, is the fastest growing technology company in Connecticut,
finishing first in the Connecticut Technology Fast 50 program run
by Deloitte and Touch and the Connecticut Technology Council.
IntelliClaim topped the 2004 field of technology companies which
is comprised of both public and private companies in the state,
ranked by revenue growth in fiscal year revenues from 1999 to 2003.
The average revenue growth for the winners was 861 percent. A reception
honoring the recipients was held at Fairfield University's Quick
Center for the Arts on October 21. Senator Joseph Lieberman delivered
the keynote speech.

the diversity and talent of those in the technology industry-- the state's Fast 50 winners
are companies that are leading the world in new, breakthrough innovations and transforming
the way we do business both here in Connecticut and around the world," said David Carver, the
Connecticut managing partner of the firm's Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice.
Matthew Nemerson, president of the Connecticut Technology Council noted, "We congratulate all of these
companies - especially the 18 of the companies making the list this year that are doing so for the
first time - for their tireless drive towards excellence and for creating jobs, opportunity and growth
in the Connecticut marketplace."

Fairfield County remains the home to the most Fast 50 winners, with 25 overall; Hartford County was represented by 11 winners, followed by New Haven County with eight. Among industries, software remains the leading industry sector with 16 winners. The advanced manufacturing industry also fared well, contributing 14 winners. 18 of the companies (36 percent) are privately-owned.
A special category called "Rising Stars" recognizes the fastest-growing technology companies based on revenue growth over three years (2001-2003). Rising Star winning companies this year include OutlookSoft Corporation (Stamford), Cervalis (Stamford), Ventus Networks (Norwalk), ePath Learning, Inc. (New London) and Tangoe, Inc. (New Haven).
To be considered for the Fast 50, companies must have met the following criteria:
- Have revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and at least $1,000,000 in 2003.
- Be public or private companies, headquartered in the state of Connecticut.
- Be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues (using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify); and/or devoting a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology.
The Fast 50 program is presented annually by Deloitte and the Connecticut Technology Council. Sponsors of the 2004 program are Bank of America, The Litchfield Insurance Group, Marsh, NASDAQ, Pullman and Comley, LLC and UK Trade & Investment.
