10/24/09 – New Haven Register – Wallingford - 15 years after Alexion Pharmaceuticals of Cheshire brought its first  drug therapy to market, sales have skyrocketed with the new drug Soliris, approved in 2007 by regulators in the United States and Europe.  Last year, Alexion was named one of state's Top 40 tech companies by the Connecticut Technology Council and the public accounting firm UHY LLP.

CTC and UHY LLP Release 2009 Top 40 Fastest Growing Companies in Connecticut
9/14/09 - The Connecticut Technology Council and UHY LLP are releasing their 2009 list of the state's 40 fastest growing technology companies. The UHY LLP Tech Top 40 list of winning companies is compiled on the basis of revenue staegrowth over the last four years. Companies considered for this recognition have at least $3M in revenue, although some of the public companies listed have exceeded $1Billion in revenue. Innovation Pipeline Accelerator Management to Change Hands

Connecticut's Business Community Urges Rejection of Finance Committee's Tax Cut Proposals
4/23/09 - Business leaders from the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), the Connecticut Technology Council, and IT companies from across the state are urging legislators to reject the Finance Committee's plan to eliminate the sales tax exemption on certain computer and data processing services because it would cost thousands of jobs. At an April 23rd news conference in Hartford, business leaders said repealing the tax exemptions would make our state's IT companies less competitive and would severely impact Connecticut's economic recovery. Read the full press release.

Array Of State Science Programs Targets Middle School Girls
4/07/09 - The Hartford Courant .... Education in STEM subjects has long been considered important to boosting Connecticut's workforce, but educators are now specifically wooing middle school girls. ... State educators and employers say reaching girls earlier, while they are still developing perceptions of women's roles in the work world, will help encourage more of them to chose STEM fields."They're making those choices [about math and science courses] at 13, 14, and 15 years old," said Paige Rasid, the marketing and operations manager for the Connecticut Technology Council.
