"I could see Tolland and the UConn area as a place where companies relocate from New York and New Jersey," Nemerson said.

"We [should] be out there financing companies that would otherwise be in Cambridge. We have to treat the potential high-growth companies, even if they only are two people, like they are gold."
4th Annual Women of Innovation Awards

The Connecticut Technology Council announced the winners of its fourth annual Women of Innovation Awards at a dinner attended by 500 at
Southington's Aqua Turf Club recently.
The awards recognize women in the workforce who are innovators, role models and leaders in the technology, science and engineering fields. Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal was on hand to congratulate the 54 finalists, of whom eight were honored as winners in categories that included small business innovation, youth innovation and leadership.
CT tech group honors women of science

Another is in charge of improving the chances of surviving attacks for helicopter pilots and passengers. A third, the youngest and still in high school, has already worked on laboratory studies of drug abuse, AIDS and Alzheimer's.
Entrepreneurial Growth in Connecticut, CT Commerce Committee Presentation
CT-N recording, 1/24/08 - The Connecticut Technology Council is committed to encouraging entrepreneurial growth in Connecticut. During the 2008 Legislative Session, the CTC is making the case for: Tax credits for Angel Investors. This will leverage private dollars to create jobs and keep Connecticut competitive with other states in attracting new high technology firms. The state Department of Public Utility Control may be "cutting off our nose to spite our face" if it goes ahead and forces AT&T to stop rolling out its new Internet protocol television service in Connecticut due to a new federal ruling having to do with the definition of whether such services should be regulated as a cable television offering. In today's highly competitive, highly interconnected and interdependent world, Connecticut will benefit from the upgrading of its communications infrastructure that the AT&T television service will bring to Internet users.
