Long Term Care Insurance

The Connecticut Technology Council's Long Term Care Insurance consultant is Healthcare Insurance Solutions, LLC. Long Term Care Insurance is designed to protect your retirement assets, SEP-IRA, 401(k) savings, and other assets from their greatest risk …using these funds to pay for ongoing and ever increasing healthcare costs.

Insurance programs designed for the unique needs of today's technology businesses.

Long Term Care Insurance will cover costs associated with ongoing care, (care which is expected to last 3 months or longer), received as a result of an injury, or medical condition which may be encountered at any age. This care and associated costs are usually not covered by any form of insurance individuals/employees may already have, (not covered by Disability Insurance, not covered by Medicare). The benefit is designed to offer protection of present assets and savings, and grow (compound) annually. Upon employment change, or retirement, the individual's coverage continues to compound, and is portable, offering ongoing protection of assets and savings.

Long Term Care Insurance is growing in popularity and becoming an additional value added benefit for many organizations. In this very competitive market, the need for recruiting and retaining skilled professionals is a continual challenge. The addition of a voluntary Long Term Care Insurance benefit to your overall benefit package offers many advantages.

For the Principal/ Executive:

  • Protect your and your spouse's life savings and retirement assets.
  • Tax Qualified plans for executives and spouses are deductible by the organization as a necessary business expense.
  • Executive Carve Out - Premium paid in full or in part by the organization.
  • A Health Savings Account allows this benefit to be paid in pre-tax dollars.

For the Employer:

  • A valuable benefit for executives and employees, at NO additional cost to your organization.
  • NO administrative work for your organization.
  • The program may also be used as an executive benefit for key executives or employees.
  • If paid by employer (in part or full), the premium is deductible as a qualified medical expense.

For the Employees:

  • Long Term Care Insurance can protect an employee's life savings.
  • It reduces stress and financial burden for employees with family members covered by a Long Term Care Insurance policy.
  • Individual plans may be customized to meet an employee's specific needs.
  • Connecticut Partnership Plans available.
  • Premium discounts and simplified underwriting extend coverage to employees who otherwise might not qualify.
  • Premium discounts available also for family members.

The advantages of a group benefit plan include premium discounts, available to employees and their family, and ease of administration. The plan can be administered individually with each employee, sparing the employer from program administration. The benefit may also be paid by an employee's pre-tax dollars through a Health Savings Account. The cost of this coverage will never be more affordable than it is now because the premium is based on age at time of enrollment.

Working age adults are in need of this protection. Caring for the ongoing needs of a family member is becoming increasingly common. These caregivers face conflicting demands on their time, and experience increased stress at home and in the workplace. A Long Term Care Insurance benefit allows an employer to assist its workforce by providing access and planning for this important coverage. Best of all, this benefit can be provided without any financial contribution by you as the employer. A company sponsored Long Term Care Insurance policy combines premium discounts , with piece of mind protection for executives, employees and their family, helping to protect life savings and retirement income, from otherwise unprotected financial loss..

The CTC Benefits Program is available to all CTC members, regardless of size.
The program is also available to non-members as well.
