The 2007 Connecticut Technology Fast 50 Defibtech topped the list of the fastest growing companies in Connecticut as recognized by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP and the Connecticut Technology Council at the annual award event held October 18 at the Chevrolet Theater in Wallingford. Nearly 350 attendees turned out for the awards gala. The Connecticut Technology Fast 50 is an annual award program that ranks technology companies located in Connecticut by revenue growth over five years. To be considered, Technology Fast 50 entrants must have operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2001 and at least $5,000,000 in 2005, be headquartered in Connecticut, own proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of its operating revenues, or devote a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. A special category called “Rising Stars” recognized the four fastest growing technology companies based on revenue growth over three or four years (2002–2005). These companies include: TopCoder and HigherOne. The 2007 Fast 50 program is presented by Deloitte and the Connecticut Technology Council, in association with Connecticut Business Magazine, Connecticut Innovations, NASDAQ, Pullman & Comley, LLC, Trust Company of Connecticut, UK Trade & Investment and Wellstone Insurance.
