Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) Honors State Senator Gary LeBeau with Public Policy Official of the Year Award
EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (December 10, 2007) – The Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) has recognized Senator Gary LeBeau (D-East Hartford) with its 2007 Public Policy Leader of the Year award. The award was made at CTC’s 2007 Annual Meeting on December 6, 2007. Mr. LeBeau, a Democrat from East Hartford, has consistently supported the Council’s technology economic development efforts. As co-chair of the Commerce Committee, he was behind last year’s efforts to get an angel investment tax credit bill passed. He has also supported other Council legislative initiatives over the last several years.
Senator Gary LeBeau is now in his sixth term in the Connecticut State Senate and represents the 3rd Senatorial District towns of East Hartford, South Windsor, East Windsor and Ellington.He is currently co-chair of the Legislature's Commerce Committee, and a member of the Transportation and Legislative Management committees. He is also a member of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee where he chairs the Transportation Bonding Subcommittee. Senator LeBeau was recently appointed a vice-chairman of the Labor and Economic Development Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
